Don’t train with me!
Even though I’m a personal trainer certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, and an experienced fitness instructor, I don’t coach myself. CrossFit Level 4 Trainer and overall good human Rob Miller and his team of fun, knowledgable coaches at CrossFit Delaware Valley (Broomall, PA) help keep me fit. I’m getting stronger and more skilled even as I approach 40 years old. And I will always be grateful for how they helped keep me strong and healthy through my first pregnancy — which was also “geriatric” and during a pandemic!
In addition to providing personal training services through Motion Granted Fitness, I teach group classes for another good human Michelle Collier. She is a passionate, experienced trainer who has built a fun, supportive, close-knit gym community at Performance Fitness (Havertown, PA). She has been gracious enough to mentor me as I’ve developed my second career.
I have been a member at two other CrossFit boxes. I’ve attended classes literally all over the world, and I have way too many t-shirts to prove it. I know adept personal trainers who train clients exclusively online, I know trainers who specialize in obstacle course racing, I’ve taken a workshop with a well-respected running coach, I have connections to martial arts studios, I know a dedicated yoga instructor, I belong to a network of over 13,000 NASM-certified trainers, and I meet weekly with other passionate gym owners all over the country. I know several registered dietitians and nutrition coaches.
Why am I telling you all of this?
While there’s definitely nonsense in the fitness industry, particularly on the internet, there are plenty of competent, dedicated fitness trainers. While all of them are able to write effective workout programs, each has a different communication style, personality, and training philosophy, and each creates a different training environment.
What are you looking for? For example, do you want someone who will go easy on your training but create a space for you to laugh the stress away, or do you want a no-nonsense commander to keep you in check? Do you want a trainer who focuses on heavy strength training, balance and agility, corrective exercise, conditioning, mobility, some mixture, or something else? Are you training for a specific sport or competition? Are you interested in small group classes, large group fitness, or one-on-one sessions? Do you want to train at home, in a small studio gym, or in a big box gym? Do you want to focus on exercise only, or do you want to work on your nutrition, daily habits, and mindset as well?
With all of my connections to fitness personnel who I LOVE and TRUST, I am confident that I can help you — even if you don’t work with me. Call or text me at 610-410-9705, and I’ll help you find the best fit.
